It is funny! Of course getting sick after getting the vaccine is just a coincidence, but it is an easy coincidence to avoid, ya know?

Kerre Woodham: Two out of two ain't bad - it's sick

By Kerre Woodham
I'm healthy. I don't have any underlying health issues ... I could afford to lose a few kilos but I'm only morbidly obese in a swimsuit. So does that mean I can pass on the flu vaccination?
I promise, if I do get the flu, not to take up any hospital beds. I'll stay at home, I won't infect anyone else and I'll sip broth til' I come right. Or die. Whichever comes first.
It's just that twice I've had the flu injection - and twice I've got sick. And I know doctors say it's coincidence and I'd have got sick anyway, but two for two? And I haven't been sick any other winter.
I want to do my patriotic duty and I know the Ministry of Health thinks we should all get jabbed to try to ease the load on the health system, but given that I can look after myself, I think will pass.
So true. I've not had the flu shot but everyone I know that has it gets sick. Even before I knew anything about vaccines that alone was enough to make me want to stay away from it.

At least she decided to pass on the shot...
Oh, but we can't afford to pass on the flu shot! We're getting it every year and are so grateful for its life saving properties. Sure, we have multiple flu's every season, but how much worse it would have to be if we didn't have the shot????? :alien: :LMAO:

What I was told the 1 year I ever got the flu shot in my life and I happened to get VERY sick with what certainly looked and felt like flu was that I had gotten something that looked and felt like flu, but WASN"T the flu...it was something else obviously not covered by the flu vaccine. Just my bad luck!!

My father never gets the shot. And he never gets the flu. At the most he gets a cold, once every 2 years, and not a bad one either.
2 of his friends got the flu shot one year, and within two weeks had the worst flus of their lives. Coincidence?
I am reminded of Henry David Thoreau when he was once talking about anecdotal evidence, and how it shouldn't always be dismissed as evidence . He felt he was being ripped off by the milk delivery guys, that they were diluting his milk with river water. He said finding a trout in your milk is pretty good circumstantial evidence!
