Hope she has a miserable time trying to boost Gardasil sales and ends up resigning in disgrace and failure. And those are my good wishes for her. The others are untypeable.

What's so interesting to me about this, is the anyone who goes into the FDA, or CDC, does so in great comfort, knowing that what awaits them out the other end is guaranteed worldly riches.
(Of course I question their spiritual riches, but then, I'd wager most of them consider God to be their employee....) <--- not a mistake....
Maurice Hilleman wasn't the first, and Gerb definitely won't be the last.
It's as predictable as the sun coming up and going down, and they wonder why some of us have a cynical bone in one lobe in our brain.
When the rest of the world realises that the script is pre-written from start to finish, progress might be made at some point in the future.

That is so....blatant.
Knocks down another big chunk of my naivete, anyway.

I wonder where naivete goes when we lose it? Is there a naivete graveyard somewhere? It would be a sad and nostalgic place.

Naievity can only be lost when people examine every area of unquestioning trust. So you could say that said graveyard is one for both naievity and unearned (and unwarranted) trust.

As I said, a sad and nostalgic place. Faith in medicine piled up next to faith in organized religion, faith in government, trust in authority.
