Anyone read this? It must be a popular book here, as I've been on the library waiting list for almost 2 months! Finally here though. I can't remember when I even found reference to read it now :)

The author is the grandmother of the child involved in an exemption case in Virginia 1981. Tanya James is her daughter. I'm trying to find more info on it, as she states it was very publicized.
"As an attorney I believe the courts should restore the rights to parents to make these decisions for their children's well-being," contends attorney Tom Finn of New Port Richey, Florida. In 1981 Finn successfully defended Tanya James in a Virginia trial over a rejected medical exemption. Since then, Finn has counseled many parents and summarized his legal strategies and a rundown of legal precedents in a booklet, Dangers of Compulsory Immunizations: How to Avoid Them Legally (Family Fitness Press, 1978). He also argues post-damage cases in court. While this is a slow, painful route towards achieving legislative change, Finn believes a flush of successful damage suits will have a cumulative impact.

I've read parts of this book by Walene James. It is definitely one of the very best books on the subject. She writes with real feelings, but also with insightful intellect. Very under-rated book in my opinion.
