Ok I went to see the naturopath I saw a while back when my bub was sick as a well check (he said I should bring her in well just to check her over etc etc) I was expecting a bit more to be honest, he barely looked at her and only asked a few questions which I felt were odd and he asked how many bottles she was having which I thought a naturopath would assume I would be breast feeding at the least. Then he asked how long I plan on feeding her for and didn't think there was any benefit to her long term. My instincts tell me to find another naturopath that makes me feel good about my choices and actually helps us change our lifestyle and food choices instead of giving me yet another lot of herbal medicine that I'm not even really sure what I'm taking them for! Anyone else experienced this? He was to much like a GP to me, he doesn't immunise his kids either so I was hoping for a bit more discussion and advice. What is the norm as back in NZ both naturopaths I saw were very thorough.

Listen to your instincts! I would not carry on. To me, one of the great benefits of using non-GP care/complementary medicine is that the relationship I form with that person and the extended time he or she takes is much much better than I can get through a GP. In that time, I know more easily if he or she is a good fit with my health perspective and goals for myself and my family. If they aren't a good fit, then I don't spend any more time with that person.

Ditto above.

Any naturopath who behaves like that has undesirable baggage of some sort....

Yes, move on.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of alternative dr.s/naturepaths etc; who seem to have an agenda.
Meaning, they tend to push only certain supplements that you have to buy through them or only a certain diet that everyone has to adhere to or different herbs to take every time you go etc;
I have also had the experience of being rudely surprised at some of their lack of knowledge about breastfeeding, REAL nutrition and even the basicis like SA.....
You need to ask around and find someone else, there are good people out there, just sometimes a bit hard to find, you need to ask questions, ask friends etc;
I actually, finally found someone I think is good, but is so expensive I still have'nt figured how I will be able to pay him, so for now I continue be dr. MOM.

And we are going to be have to be more and more vigilant in the future as "natural" and "organic" become increasing trendy. Where there is money to be made and indeed anything 'marketed' - beware! lol You want to find someone who is passionate, knowledgable and committed to ongoing learning plus able to communication their knowledge in an open way. Sorry I haven't found one that comes close, I'm spoilt to have my Mum who ticks those boxes.

I have an appointment with a new naturopath who answered my questions regarding her views on health, antibiotics and vaccination that made me satisfied we agree on a similar path for us as a family, and she's easily accessible for advice at all times by phone which I like. She is young but will see how it goes. Also have heard of a mum of a 5yr old who doesn't vaccinate so will try and get in touch with her :)
