Recently I have started looking at water filters the information is overwhelming and because it is another non-regulated industry I don't know where to start with sourcing valid information. I know that fluoride is bad but only reverse osmosis will remove it. I was shocked to read in our local paper that a chemical "Rotenone" will be added to our water ways to kill a certain type of fish. WTF we don't have a choice whether it poisons our systems. This lead to a discussion with DH about all the jet fuel that would end up in our waterways, we live near a RAAF and domestic airport.
Anyone else done further investigating and brought the perfect water filter system?

Don't know about the perfect system...but few years back we went with a reverse osmosis system.
the only thing to consider is that it removes other useful minerals too.
I'm pretty sure you'd want to stay from a distiller if that was one of your options.

We collect rain water off the roof, from a special part of the roof, through a filter system, into non-toxic tanks. We collect it in the middle of a storm, wash the roof down, leave for a couple of hours, open the system, fill the tanks, and close the system.
Water tests fantastic.
And this is enough water to run your household, MT?
I was looking into a reverse osmosis system...but I don't know if I'm capable of conveying the importance of the expense to my husband.

That water is solely for cooking and drinking.
But in the past, we've run everything off the roof in a water tank. But then, we don't run water hungry devices like dish-washing machines; and we are uber water conscious.
Teeth are cleaned with one inch of water in a cup for instance. Yet you see so many people cleaning their teeth with the cold water tap running full blast
Water is treated as a gold-like commodity in this house, and people often can't believe how little of it we use.

I take very little note of Mercola's team of ghost writers.
Water as it's meant to be. Period.

Don't know if you have read Mikhail Tombaks books?? Can we live 150 years and Cure the Incurable...
He talks at length about Structured water and how to prepare it from melted ice... now as cold as Wellington is that isn't an option for me!
Water from fruit and vegetable juices is "structured" and also beneficial he also talks about.
Get the books and have a read. I think they are fantastic even though not very well translated.
