I was just sent this article (http://http://www.pubmedcentral.nih.gov/articlerender.fcgi?artid=2561204)and I am wondering what is going on?
The immune responses in vaccinated adults were comparable to those seen for natural immunity to mumps, with the exception of IFN-γ release, which has unknown clinical relevance. Is it true that IFN-γ is secreted from Th1 cells? Why would someone who has had mumps the disease have more IFN-γ than someone who has been vaccinated for mumps?
TIA if anyone has any answers.
