  • CCRH suggests homeopathic drug for swine flu

New Delhi, Jul 11 (PTI) After launching India's first indigenous swine flu vaccine, the Union Health Ministry has recommended a homeopathic drug as a preventive medicine against the disease.

In a meeting convened by Central Council for Research in Homeopathy (CCRH) on July 8, 2010, a Group of Experts (GoE) has recommended 'Arsenicum album' as prophylactic (preventive) medicine against flu-like illnesses, officials in the health ministry said.

The GoE has recommended one dose (four pills of size 30 by adults and two pills by children) of 'Arsenicum album 30' daily on empty stomach for three days. The dose should be repeated after one month by following the same schedule in case flu-like conditions prevail in the area, they said.

CCRH is an autonomous body under the department of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy (AYUSH), Ministry of Health.
